| Yes, and of course to talk about any nation's response to a play is ridiculously general. I saw Girl From the North Country with two British friends, and we all hated it even though the crowd was eating it up. And my friend Helen, also a Brit, saw the show twice she liked it so well. I really only want to say that I suspect an American audience will be more critical of the book, like they were for Enron's, because Americans have seen all those "types" portrayed many times and may want more from the book. |
