| She just speaks to me in that song, and I don't even associate it with her singing it, curiously. I have it on an old "mix tape" of my own devising, and never tire of it. Written by Beth Nielsen Chapman. |

| I so agree. I love her version. And it's even better in person. As I recall she sings it sitting on a bench. She gets much more choked up than she does on the recording. Then it propels her into standing and moving center to close act one with Being Alive. Being Alive is not on the Matters of the Heart recording but is in the show. Shivers. I also LOVE her rendition of Air That I Breathe. Her phrasing and breathing is so magical, almost hypnotic. |

| So happy see Matters of the heart come up here. Not only Patti's best, but one of my favorite cd's. I think precisely because it is so intimate and not over the top. And the songs choices are unsurpassed, including all those mentioned here. | |
