Ethan Hawke was astonishing in the Williamstown production of Camino Real. I hadn’t paid much attention to him before I saw it, but I’ve watched most everything he’s done since, almost always with great admiration. First Reformed is a stunning film with an Oscar-worthy performance by Hawke.
Camino Real is such a difficult play to pull off, and he and his talented co-stars brought it to life. It’s thrilling that he wants to direct a film adaptation. He understands Camino. Nobody better to make it work on film. |
