Sorry to hear about "Getting the Band"...I think they made a valiant effort and many people liked it. Strange casting for "Network"...I would have thought that those roles would have attracted more star power.

Actually I would have thought they'd acquire less star power. Usually Ivo van Hove is the star of an Ivo van Hove production. (Not entirely true: certainly THE CRUCIBLE was starry and Jude Law and Juliette Binoche are no slouches, but I always think the reason people go to his shows is to see what he's done with the text.)


Jimmy Smits is an odd choice, but I do remember liking him onstage in THE MOTHERFUCKER WITH THE HAT. But he doesn't strike me as an old school mandarin of broadcasting. (Neither did Peter Finch, which is why I preferred Bryan Cranston as Howard Beale.)

Maslany is a terrific actress and I imagine she will be terrific in this. (I was not a massive fan of Dockery in London, and I felt Henshall was too young.
