| Two of McDonagh's earlier plays recouped on Broadway: Beauty Queen and Pillowman. However, others like Inishmore, Spokane, and Inishmaan were commercial failures despite two of them having stars like Christopher Walken and Daniel Radcliffe. All of his plays certainly do well at the Atlantic and have all been well received in various Chicago regional theaters. Hangmen scared the bejesus out of me, but made me laugh at the same time. Perhaps Broadway is not the best way to go for it. |
