| ACT did it here a year or so ago. Beforehand, I saw a talkback with Stoppard and Carey Perloff, who pretty much explained what to look for and what he was going after. In spite of that (and unsurprisingly, given the general dullness of Perloff's direction), it was one of the more tedious evenings I've spent in a theatre. (I didn't care for "Rock 'n' Roll," either, but it was -slightly- better than "The Hard Problem.") |
