Lady Bunny, along with Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, revived Wigstock, the East Village drag fest, Saturday at Pier 17 in Manhattan.

BoyCulture's Matthew Rettenmund reports that Tony winners NPH and Lena Hall brought back their characters from ''Hedwig and the Angry Inch.''

(Other performers included ''Once on This Island's'' Alex Newell and Bob the Drag Queen. Plus, Michael Mayer directed the festivities.)

Among the highlights: Lypsinka performing ''If They Could See Me Now'' and answering phone calls in her signature style. (Video below.)

Charging for tickets when traditionally Wigstock was free may have kept people away. Also, Labor Day Weekend is tough to attract big audiences.

As you probably know, the last official Wigstock was held in 2001; I read that it ran into money problems (i.e., bankruptcy).

It didn't pay to put on a ''free'' event anymore, which is why it's been gone all these years. It was Harris and Burtka, who revived it with Lady Bunny. But now that drag is much more mainstream (and commercial), it's unlikely you'd get all these drag artists to perform for free. Tickets for this 6-hour event (with 50 draq queens) started at $99, and there were a limited number of $18.95 passes. Only time will tell if it's worth reviving next year.

Whose version of ''If They Could See Me Now'' is Lypsinka doing? And what's the name of the second tune (''Popularity''?) and its singer? Thanks!

Thanks, EmeraldAisle. Due to your tip, I found both songs on Marilyn Maye's 1968 album, ''The Happiest Sound in Town.''

As for ''Popularity,'' it was written by George M. Cohan and Albert Stillman, and featured in the 1968 Broadway musical ''George M!''

American Dance Machine has re-created its ''Popularity'' number (below). Joe Layton won the Tony that season for Choreography.

The short answer is I don't know. Lypsinka has a vast collection of obscure recordings and loves to feature singers who are not widely known. She has loads of live club acts with second or third tier gals. Her character is an amalgam of these late 50s early 60s gems.
