| I had not heard about this, so thank you for posting about it. Horrible. And yes, I think it is absolutely relevant. We've been mourning the loss of so many actors and other theatre professionals recently, but obviously this is no less affecting. I have a Brazilian-born student in my college musical theatre program - when school starts up next week, I will ask him if he ever had the chance to visit this museum. |

| I've only been in Rio once - and went to this museum, only to find museum workers on strike. A missed opportunity. Very sad indeed. | |

| Officials said the blaze may have been caused by a paper balloon propelled by a small flame that may have landed on the museum’s roof. Such balloons are illegal, but are commonly launched during celebrations across Brazil. Investigators were also exploring whether a short circuit in a laboratory may have been the culprit. | |
