Cynthia has an amazing team behind her. And, she was terrific in The Color Purple.

But I would rather have 10% of recent Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda.

I was thinking of Tony winning actors, something Lin hasn't done. He also is not taking off as a movie star in the way Cynthia is right now. As an actor, I'd rather have Cynthia's career right now. Kristin Chenoweth is the last actor I can remember that took off on this level after a Tony win but it wasn't on Erivo's level.

"He also is not taking off as a movie star in the way Cynthia is right now."

You need to slow your roll, KingSpeed. She's not taking off as a movie star just yet. She's getting good parts with good directors, no question. And in many of these films, she has a reasonably high placement in the cast list. But that's not the same thing as a movie star. "Harriet" might get her there, but "Harriet" has only been announced. There aren't any other actors attached yet, and it isn't in pre-production. Let's hope it gets there.

If we're going to compare Cynthia's career to a Tony winning actor, the best comparison is probably Leslie Odom Jr., who is also in "Needle in a Timestack", and has also been getting good roles in movies and TV. He isn't yet a movie star, and he may not get there, but he's working.

As for Lin, he's the most prominent face in the new Mary Poppins teaser, which we've been hearing about for months, and which is being positioned as a major Christmas film. At the moment, he's the most visible of all of these people, though that may not mean anything a few years from now.

Well, you said Tony winners. And, he qualifies as one. With a large role in Mary Poppins Returns, he will be in a big movie at Disney opposite Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep Xmas 2019.
And, he is set to make his feature directing debut and produce other movies and television shows. I would rather have 5% of L-M M, than 10% of Cynthia Enrivo. There is just no comparison.

Cynthia Enrivo and Kristin Chenoweth are immensely talented ladies but they are actresses for hire. I guess its possible that Cynthia will get a musical drama like "The Rose" or "Lady Sings The Blues" and break through. But, with someone like Daveed Diggs functioning as a writer/producer/star, he is going to be creating his own opportunities. So, I would rather have 10% of Diggs.

Like I said, "Harriet" looks like an Oscar vehicle. She doesn't need a musical one to have a great career though I believe she is singing in the "Bad Times at the El Royale." I said Tony winner but then told you what I was thinking of- Tony winning actors. One movie in Mary Poppins doesn't equal what Erivo is doing right now. Personally, I'd like a blossoming movie star career over what Lin and Daveed are doing. That's just me.

Currently filming the 8-episode first season of the His Dark Materials TV series.
