| I was very disappointed. Though the actors were flexible and flashy, nobody found a style. It was all parody without the grotesque underpinnings which made Vonnegut such a relevant writer. This was all cartoon with no point. O’Connell was entertaining, as ever, but there was no strong directorial vision except for clever cartooning. I left at intermission. I think it just shoulda risked being ugly. |
