Of course, Fun Home, which opened the CSH's remodeled Curran, was a tour.
A couple of considerations may also be
- Both previous houses in London and NY underwent extensive remodels and modification to become "Hogwartized." I'd imagine that there would be time needed for modifications to the theater in advance (and then double that for SF delays, but given experiences in London and NY they're likely used to difficult cities) I'd expect that the gilded balconies would be covered in soffits in the process of turning the auditorium into the great dining hall look. I also suspect Carole's precious (very) chandelier will need to go into storage.
- I recall hearing that there was to be a joint agreement between Curran and ATG for the production, and I believe ATG was to be responsible for most operations. Given this, it's likely that they had no desire to burden their sales with a Curran half-season subscription. |
