I loved the Lucy Bailey production of WITNESS at the London County Hall. I wouldn't call it a radical production, as the article's lead section does, but it did refocus the story through a feminist lens, a lens that was probably always there. The play is very clever and surprisingly rich and best when it sneaks up on you as an entertainment which is what the Bailey production did. I thought about seeing the production of MOUSETRAP at the St. Martins but that would have been too much of an Agatha-debauch. It did bother me a bit that both the Bailey production and the MOUSETRAP had no actors of color in the leads, at least that was the case when I visited.
