| This has got to stop. Just because someone can stage a dance number does not make them a director. Robbins, Champion, Fosse and Bennett were the exceptions that prove the rule that choreographers should remain choreographers and not "cross over" to directing. | |

I wholeheartedly agree, but I do think there are SOME current choreographer who have turned out to be excellent directors as well, and the first name that comes to mind on that short list is Casey Nicholaw. |

| Completely agree. I’d add Susan Stroman to the list good of choreographers who has never been a good director. | |
