| I couldn't read the full review, but I assume that pull quote is in reference to non-cast recordings / soundtracks. Honestly, though, I don't know how an album with arrangements for a tiny band can be the best all-Sondheim album EVER recorded. I guess I'm not a huge cabaret fan, but for me, especially with our greatest living composer, who has worked with some of the best orchestrators in the world, "the best" would have to be recorded with a full orchestra. |
