I went and I loved the film. The London production wasn’t done on a thrust stage and at least the set designer got rid of obstructions that would block scenes from the audience.
Kelli O’Hara has improved acting wise and her singing is gorgeous. My only problem is her Shall I Tell You What I Think of You? still lack oomph. When Marin Mazzie sang the song she was able to add some naughtiness to her delivery.
Watanabe seems comfortable in the part and is very good though still at times hard to understand lyric wise—but not too much.
Ruthie Ann Miles is fabulous. I was also impressed by Na-Young Jeon’s singing as Tuptim. |
