| See Deadline article. No mention whatsoever of recent cancellations of productions of his plays by other companies., which I would say classifies as either sloppy journalism or purposeful elimination of a major news point for whatever reason(s). | |

| I want to make it clear that I personally have no problem with his work, and seeing as how no reason was ever given for the cancellation of his plays by other companies, I have no problem with him, either. I just think it's odd that this news item made no mention whatsoever of the cancellations -- as it is a news item, not a press release. | |

| There is only one theater company of which I am aware that did a high-profile cancellation. Looks like other theater companies realize what a popular playwright he is. I love his off-the-wall and politically incorrect plays and usual have loud guffaws throughout his shows. As a business that hopes to make money, it pays to give the audience what they want to see. | |

| More than one theater cut ties with LaBute and cancelled productions that were in the pipeline. | |

| There were two theatres that "cut ties" with LaBute: MCC in NYC cancelled a scheduled production of "Reasons to be Pretty Happy," and ended his residency. Geffen Playhouse in L.A. cancelled a scheduled production of "Fat Pig." Neither theatre gave a reason why, and no one has come forward with allegations, etc. | |

| Nothing has been made public, but when MCC cut ties, they also called artists affiliated with the theater to tell them personally that they had stopped their relationship with LaBute. | |

|
| I assume it was not ready yet for a production and so mcc had to find substitute shows. Maybe that wasn’t the reason. | |

| They did a benefit reading of it in Sept 2016 with Paul Rudd, Amber Tamblyn, Norbert Leo Butz & Jennifer Mudge | |
