That way if it has commercial interest it can transfer but the risk is a lot lower at a nonprofit. I don’t think anything has been announced after torch song closes (which I doubt would extend after feb 24). That would give enough time to open in April if a cast could be assembled and with this years crop of musicals not being that strong in my opinion, it would probably get some nominations and wins.
Also, lct doesn’t have a spring show so could also go to a broadway house and convert to commercial without moving. |
