| Written by a gay man, this is a drama that tells the tale of 2 women with an agenda who make a horrid false accusation against 2 (gay) men and their child. An important play to see in today's hyper-charged environment. We learn later in the play that just because a woman makes an accusation, it doesn't mean it's true. Play ran way too long at 1 hour 52 minutes no intermission, with a monologue, extended phone conversations mostly in Spanish, and way too much "dead air" that really slowed the play down. However the emotional scenes play very well and the lead actor (who is also the playwright) is a standout here. Would work far better at a crisp 75 minutes. I'd still recommend it. It's right across the street from the L train at the 1st Ave/14th St stop. |
