| “There’s something about being recognized by the country in this fashion,” Lacamoire, who composed the musical’s score, told reporters on Saturday. “I never imagined that anything of what I do leading to this room, in this place.” This story was published about 12 hours ago. Surprised that it hasn't been corrected yet. Notably, this writer of this piece, Emily Cochrane, is as Washington correspondent who primarily writes on goings on in DC. It doesn't appear that she's written much (if at all) for the Arts section... - GMB |

| It does make one wonder what else the "paper of record" gets wrong. I learned young not to trust the accuracy of newspapers. When I was in my early teens, my father was the head of an ad hoc committee to keep Army Pictorial Center open (it's now the Museum of the Moving Image). There was a press conference, and it was reported by the Times, Daily News, and Post. The only fact that all three got correct was my dad's age. I sometimes find the attitudes about theatre in the press to be even more galling than the inaccuracies. Even in 2018, some writers evince astonishment that not all musicals are cheesy fluff. |

| It's been corrected. “There’s something about being recognized by the country in this fashion,” Lacamoire, who orchestrated and helped arrange the show’s music, told reporters on Saturday. “I never imagined that anything of what I do leading to this room, in this place.” |

| “I never imagined that anything of what I do leading to this room, in this place.” Am I wrong, or does this part of the "corrected" statement need some careful editing? ;-) |

| The Times itself--after all the Miranda pieces they've published--is the real culprit here. Not only should they have edited Cochrane's article, did NO one see that both the photo caption and the first mention of Miranda's contribution get it right? But does Cochrane, even if she doesn't write much about the Arts, not know the difference between a musical director and a composer? | |

| But does Cochrane, even if she doesn't write much about the Arts, not know the difference between a musical director and a composer? Let alone that Lacamoire wasn't just the musical director, but also the orchestrator - and he shares musical arranging credit with Miranda as well. |

| It’d be interesting to see how much of the score WAS written by Alex. | |

| I don't think Cochrane is the problem so much as how many other people (editors, etc) also saw the article. | |
