The fact that Cher is one of the producers and the artistic judgments are driven, in whole or in part, by that is definitely a reason to call it out. When the person involved is not an adored icon, we call that a vanity production. Who cares what Cher's reaction would be? As I have said elsewhere in many contexts, producers get to put what they want onstage as long as it is not illegal, and everyone else gets to tell them what they think they did right and wrong. And THAT notion needs no rest.
