I read/analyzed the play in college 30 years ago

And have never seen a production. I guess the multiple locations makes it hard to stage? Luckily fathom events is at a Cinemax with reclining roomy seats instead of the old theater that most ntl productions are shown.

I think I’m the exact opposite to you. I disliked the modern costume. And about three quarters through i felt that fiennes was miscast. He doesn’t have charisma or ooze masculinity, so why would cleopatra be drawn to him and basically give up her kingdom. The live snake was dumb since asp is grey with black stripes and not a coral snake which she had bite her neck and not her breast.

I’m glad it was broadcAst so I finally saw a production of these rarely produced play. I wish I could say I loved it and was not bored.
