|The ending may be a deal breaker for the person in question. Curly shoots Jud, blood sprays, and Curly and Laurey finish the show in blood-spattered wedding outfits. My mother would have had nightmares.
The arrangements are kind of countrified, which I loved (and I'm not a follower/fan of country music) . The immersive-ish setting is also very non-traditional - lights up, audience seats in bleachers, cast on stage throughout, sometimes observing. And there's food. And the dream ballet is very non-traditional and unusual (and perplexing, for me).
I got the feeling Jud was suicidal - was I supposed to think that? And Curly was doing his bidding. I'm about 70-30 like-dislike on this production, but see no problem with shaking it up. But I don't see the point of the ending.
