I mean, it's hard to know what an "off night" is with something like this. We did wish we had seen someone else, but there's also no guarantee that it would have been amazing with Nathan Lane, except that he's a guaranteed personality.

Our bigger critique was that the writing didn't exploit the guest actor in a compelling way, and it had clearly not been written to be performed in such a large space. It would have been more interesting as a fringe show in a small venue with an audience of 25 or 30 people, which would have been more in line with the playwright's expectation.
