I apologize for my flip remark about what your comment was based on (since I have no knowledge of that), but I still think it was wrong of you to react in such a nasty and condescending way to the reviewer's comment about Tom wearing a suit for the trial scenes. What you wrote was, "Sadly, this inane comment reflects Hurst's ignorance of what actually is involved in trying a criminal case," which to me assumes that whatever advice a lawyer would give a black defendant on what to wear during a rape trial in Alabama in the Jim Crow era would accord with the advice a lawyer would give his client during a similar trial in a Northeastern U.S. city in modern times.

In my opinion, while it's conceivable that Atticus would have advised Tom to wear a suit for his trial, it's unlikely enough that he would do so to prompt that comment by the reviewer. And even if you don't agree with the comment, I really don't think you can argue it was so far off the mark as to warrant your total derision.
