| Normally I would say "well if you haven't seen the play you're missing something." But in this case, I think your take probably wouldn't change much with seeing it live. I could see the big reveal coming too - not sure what is given in stage directions, but certain costume choices make it clear that not everything is as it seems. Can you predict EXACTLY what is going on? Perhaps not. But you can tell there is some level of performance happening, that this isn't just an actual scene from the antebellum period. |
