On the contrary. Off-Broadway it was much more a "book show" than it was on Broadway. On Broadway, it became a revue with a thin story line.
I loved both versions.
BTW, the published script (PocketBooks and Great Rock Musicals) is a hybrid of the two versions (with some stuff I never saw on stage).
