| That's an interesting take, if perhaps a generous one. I think the playwright sides more with certain characters, based on who gets to have revelations and awakenings and who doesn't. I also don't know that any character is developed enough to be a buffoon - in my view, they're pretty much completely defined by their race. Especially the straight white guy. He's straight and white, and nothing else he does matters. But I can see your argument too. |
