Linda Lavin did many fine things as Rose, although I don't feel that she got "Rose's Turn" very well. (I know someone here disagrees.)

Mitchell was very good as Valentin, but I'm not sure I'd say he quite surpassed Anthony Crivello. I would, however, say that my favorite Molina was standby Juan Chioran, who played the week between Jeff Hyslop's last performance and Howard McGillin's first. That was when I saw him, thinking I would be seeing Hyslop, whose name was still on the marquee and in the cast list in the lobby but who was gone. I preferred Chioran to Carver and McGillin.

Personally, I did not love Bill Irwin in The Goat, although I did later think he was terrific in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

Here's a rare one: I saw the 1979 Circle Rep Hamlet twice. The second time, Jacqueline Brookes had replaced the excellent Beatrice Straight as Gertrude. Brookes was even better than Straight.
