He was most haunting in A Few Stout Individuals, and gave my favorite performance in that production of The Iceman Cometh. A wonderful actor.
He played Dr. Sloper opposite Cherry Jones when The Heiress played the Ahmanson in Los Angeles. Of course, Philip Bosco had played the role on Broadway. Two such stalwart talents, gone so closely together. They take the best of an era with them. |
