Stuck here in LA, I can only drool with envy over the shows and talent you New Yorkers have access to. But I have seen Harry Groener in a variety of shows--sometimes one-night only concerts, sometimes staged readings, and, of course, full productions. And it doesn't matter what the role is: Guiteau in ASSASSINS, Buddy in FOLLIES, Michael in I DO! I DO!, King Lear, Big Daddy, multiple roles in EQUIVOCATION or four shorts by Chekhov, or the alcoholic artist in VIEUX CARRE--he was consistently the best damn thing on stage. And I cherish every chance I've had to see his greatness. (And the chat we had about his research for Guiteau, as I was working on a story in which he was a minor character.)
So I can still be jealous of you guys. But we have some good stuff here in SoCal, too. And it was 80 degress yesterday. 😄
