| "Misleading headline, I think." I'm with you. According to the headline, Urie is "baffled" by the early closing of TORCH SONG -- but then his quote in the article gives some very good reasons for it (see above), and elsewhere he does also mention that maybe everyone who wanted to see the show saw it Off-Broadway last year. Of course, he doesn't mention that word-of-mouth on the show is very mixed due to (in my opinion) inept direction and odd casting, including (but not limited to) one actor in a supporting role whose performance is nearly unwatchable (and unlistenable). There's some good stuff in the interview but also I think some mis-speaking and/or transcription errors: “Producers look at me doing that and think, ‘We can count on him.’ I’m a hoofer. I’ll be there every night.” Is that supposed to be "I'm a trouper?" |
