The producers of the film version of "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" DECIMATED that score leaving it almost unquestionable that it would NOT become a staple of the American Musical Theatre as the film seemed like it only had 5 songs in it. Truly a shame. The film actually has practically NO "second act", there is no real tension between Molly and Johnny, Prince DeLong has been changed into "somebody else" who is "nobody else". Oh, and the three song Act One sequence at Mrs, McGlone's party with "The Denver Police", "Be-yoo-ti-ful People Of Denver" and Molly, Monsignor Ryan and the Ensemble in "Are You Sure?" is just GONE. They really F-ed this one up. I'd LOVE to see a full-scale revival with Reba McIntyre on Broadway. (Oh, and we don't need Buttercup!)
