| I watched some videos over the holiday of color-blind people using the relatively new glasses for seeing color as normal people do, and their reactions are astounding - from laughter to joyfully crying. It's as if the real sepia/black & white portion of the "Wizard of Oz" (ok -- for here "The Wiz" or "Wicked") suddenly to them became as Technicolor Oz when Dorothy opens up that door from the house after the twister. I couldn't stop watching them. I think you'll enjoy -- in a way they are almost akin to seeing a great Broadway musical for the first time! I think those makers of the glasses should win some kind of Nobel Peace Prize for the joy they've produced -- or some equivalent of a Tony Award. These glasses would even help a color-blind friend of yours see a real Broadway show (or tv show) in the real eye-popping color that the rest of us see. Seriously, these videos will give you good cheer. | |

| Glad you liked the videos. Keep in mind though that these are the most spectacular examples. I got them 2 years ago when they first came out and for me, the change wasn't nearly as dramatic because my level of color blindness is more mild. (Color blindness is along a spectrum of severity, not everyone who has it sees in black and white). I can confirm though, like the videos suggest, there is an inexplicable urge to touch things once you put them on, perhaps because things suddenly feel unreal...sorta like Dorothy walking through the door :-) | |

| "Color blindness is along a spectrum of severity, not everyone who has it sees in black and white." My understanding has always been that an extremely small percentage of "color blind" people see things in black and white. But I guess with all the billions of people in the world, that still adds up to quite a few, and I guess they were able to find a few of those people for these videos. |

| There's a video which shows how some colorblind people see things, alongside what a non-colorblind people would of the same view. Many of these folks see some colors, but they can't really always see different shades. A lot of them can't differentiate between red and green. Plus some colors like purple, almost always seems to thrill them when the glasses work for them, as this is one color that seems to be totally new to them. Many of the folks say that they will have to re-learn some things and how they label them color-wise. Plus things in the videos, like skin tones in some of the Caucasian people shown, are brand new to the people trying the glasses, having before seemed like something approaching gray or more washed out and less vivid. They are looking at themselves and their families with almost new eyes, and it's really great! | |

| Hopefully the folks at that company and other scientists will continue to work to improve the progress they've made so that the results will be even better for folks like you who have a more mild level on the spectrum. Perhaps they will even have contact lenses in the near future. Seeing these folks' reactions are actually pretty addictive in a really heartwarming way. | |
