| I've said before here that Here's Love may be the only Broadway musical of the 1960s whose cast recording I cannot get through. But I've managed to listen to most of it, and the only song I like at all is that one. God, some of it is painful. And as noted elsewhere, Willson was, by Broadway standards, a very well-educated and experienced musician. People sometimes seem to have the impression that he was some sort of musical idiot savant, but that's a completely wrong impression. |
