| It would have been good publicity. Could Cher have nixed it? Did the Broadway show include a commercial on the telecast -- as did "Lear," with its prominent mention of Philip Glass's musical contribution? Speaking of which: I was sorry there wasn't more biographical information about Glass, including his years with Mabou Mines. And his continuing as a plumber and cab driver after becoming a composer. I had hoped they'd mention the person who got in his cab after the opening of "Einstein on the Beach" at the Met and, upon seeing his name on his license, remarked: "Young man, do you know you have the same name as a famous composer? | |

| I would think that the Cher show schedule at the time would not have permitted the trip down to Washington. There was a TV commercial for Cher in the pre-prime time (i.e., 7:59PM) slot in New York. Rudin went batshit crazy with commercials for his shows during the broadcast-Mockingbird, Lear, and Gary (maybe others too, but if so I missed them). |

| I am sure they would have offered a number from the show otherwise. Jeffrey Seller (producer of The Cher Show and Hamilton) was certainly there and frequently cut to during the Cher tribute. In any event, that was quite a weekend for the lady herself! |
