I would think that the Cher show schedule at the time would not have permitted the trip down to Washington.

There was a TV commercial for Cher in the pre-prime time (i.e., 7:59PM) slot in New York. Rudin went batshit crazy with commercials for his shows during the broadcast-Mockingbird, Lear, and Gary (maybe others too, but if so I missed them).

Indeed. The Cher Show opened the day AFTER the Kennedy Center performance.

I am sure they would have offered a number from the show otherwise. Jeffrey Seller (producer of The Cher Show and Hamilton) was certainly there and frequently cut to during the Cher tribute.

In any event, that was quite a weekend for the lady herself!
