| Actually many knew about this once-Fiyero. Not I, ever, until last night. I was not a fan. And then...his earnest reinvention of the anthemic “Believe” as a personal meditation on loss was stunning. I dreaded him and he made the Cher segment for me. The man has grown as an artist. | |

| . . . at about a minute and a half into the song? It was a truly stunning rendition of BELIEVE. I've watched it several times on YouTube since the airing of the show. | |

| Besides making his Broadway debut as a replacement Fiyero years ago in ''Wicked,'' Adam Lambert had done a lotta theater before he hit it big at ''American Idol.'' At 21, he did a European tour of ''Hair,'' and the following year, played in ''Brigadoon,'' singing an angelic ''Come to Me, Bend to Me'' at Theatre Under the Stars in Houston. He also was in ''110 in the Shade'' at Pasadena Playhouse, starring Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley. At the Kennedy Center Honors, Lambert's reinvention of Cher's dance hit ''Believe'' into a powerful and breathtakingly beautiful ballad, moved Cher to tears. She tweeted: ''Tried 2 write Feelings About Adam Lambert Singing Believe In Words, but Cant seem 2. When Your senses are Overwhelmed ...'' Short of doing his own concert, I wonder if there a show that could bring this Grammy-nominated pop star back to Broadway. Sure hope so! |

| I found Lambert so affected and over the top on American Idol and after but I agree his Believe was very good and sung with masterful restraint. | |

| I didn't like him at all on American Idol, but I love his rendition (on YouTube) of "Come to Me, Bend to Me" (unfortunately his Scots accent comes and goes a bit) as well as his performance on the Kennedy Center Honors. | |

| He's undeniably a theater kid, and always has been, but I have a feeling he makes more from a sold out stadium with QUEEN than he would make on Broadway. LiveNation just announced a 23-city North American tour for next year, and after the blowout success of the "Bohemian Rhapsody" film, I'm sure they're prepared to capitalize on the interest in Queen from a new, younger, ticket buying demographic who just discovered the music. It's hard to imagine plugging Mr. Lambert into a show that's already out there; he deserves more than just a filler role in ROCK OF AGES or even another mounting of HEDWIG. His upper range is such a rare and haunting thing, equally moving in falsetto or a rock scream, and someone needs to write a role for him. - GMB, who thinks his first performance of "Mad World" essentially made him a star (link below) |

| Outstanding performance and reinterpretation of the song. One of the few highlights of the evening. | |

| I know he's got the Queen world tours to keep him busy, but I'd like to see him back to his theater roots one day, before he's too old to cast. Was rumored to be Judas opposite John Legend in JCS Live, but that seemed to fall through. Perhaps lowering the score for Legend wouldn't have worked with his range. Shame, I think he would have killed that score in the original key. | |
