Besides making his Broadway debut as a replacement Fiyero years ago in ''Wicked,'' Adam Lambert had done a lotta theater before he hit it big at ''American Idol.'' At 21, he did a European tour of ''Hair,'' and the following year, played in ''Brigadoon,'' singing an angelic ''Come to Me, Bend to Me'' at Theatre Under the Stars in Houston. He also was in ''110 in the Shade'' at Pasadena Playhouse, starring Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley.
At the Kennedy Center Honors, Lambert's reinvention of Cher's dance hit ''Believe'' into a powerful and breathtakingly beautiful ballad, moved Cher to tears. She tweeted: ''Tried 2 write Feelings About Adam Lambert Singing Believe In Words, but Cant seem 2. When Your senses are Overwhelmed ...''
Short of doing his own concert, I wonder if there a show that could bring this Grammy-nominated pop star back to Broadway. Sure hope so! |
