| The MET does it all the time. I also remember clearly when Audra was out of Porgy and Bess, the theatre said specifically that she was sick. It's a courtesy. |

| it is not a courtesy; it is an invasion of privacy. if Audra asked that it be announced, then it would have been announced. ditto this woman (p.s. I had never heard of her until this thread so some good comes of everything). | |

| Since we don't know if she was, in fact, sick, I'll just assume she's a lazy actress who hates being in a terrible show. Is that better? |

| I'm not saying this is true in this case, but one thing I find extremely annoying is when actors have scheduled absences but the producers won't let anybody know. And then won't give you a refund or exchange when you show up for that planned absence. I was glad to hear that LCT is giving refunds for Laura Benanti's absences in My Fair Lady. |
