At the performance I attended, a woman on the street looked right into the camera like she thought she was going to be on the news or something. I’m sure that’s a risk the production knew it was taking when it decided to stage things that way.
In The Misanthrope, Jeanine Serralles and Bill Camp had a fight scene on the street, and part of the charm was watching passersby gawking at the spectacle.
Do they enter the stage via the stage door alleyway? Is there a sign up for the restaurant?
