The play was produced at Chicago's Victory Gardens in 2016, presumably from that acting edition, which had been at Samuel French. I wonder if changes will be made. According to the following article, Hnath wrote it in 2008 (seems people might be expecting something different now).

I have to say I'm surprised by your comments about The Ferryman - response about understanding what's going on/said seem to be all over the map. For anyone who hasn't seen it, I recommend using the assisted listening devices if you're not familiar with Irish accents.

FWIW, I’m not familiar with Irish accents and know very little about Irish history and culture and I had absolutely no problem understanding the plot or dialogue in The Ferryman.
