I can't tell you how much of it takes place there, but George M. Cohan's George Washington, Jr. takes places partly in Rhode Island.

If you can count revues, Inside U. S. A. includes sequences in Wyoming and Kentucky, as well as sequences in a bunch of other states for which answers have already been given below. It also includes the song "Rhode Island Is Famous for You," but that was not identified as being sung anywhere (except the theater).

God Bless You Mr. Rosewater contains the Rhode Island Tango, which takes place in Pissonit, RI. (spelled in a way that looks much more like a Rhode Island town name, but which google won’t point me to)
