I didn't like it either. And I think the OP's concerns about not liking it if it's one's favorite book/movie are valid. I felt that unless one had something really important to add to the story, why bother and I just didn't feel that Sorkin's changes/additions contributed much. But I did go to see it because I wanted to - the kids played by adults were the least of my issues.
