Carmen Cusack will be terrific as Sally Adams, but I know that not casting a mega-star in this part will disappoint some. I wonder if a bigger name fell through at some point.
In any case, I'm looking forward to seeing it, no less now with Cusack than I would have with Peters or LuPone or McEntire or whomever.
It will be interesting to see the role by someone who is not a large presence like Merman or the ladies you mention. Cusack never fails to deliver, she is one of my favorite performers.
