|Basic things like this should be available at every performance -
1. Capped sound levels: Who needs the way over-amplified sound that is likely going to cause hearing damage? Earplugs are a necessity for me for virtually any performance nowadays.
2. Plot & character descriptions: Makes it so much easier to follow. So much better than what certain theater companies (like CSC & Transport Group) do, when they don't hand over the playbill until after the show.
3. Ability to "step out" during the performance: Why shackle someone to his/her seat? It's one thing to allow a latecomer to stand in the back or sit in the mezzanine so they don't disrupt premium mid-orchestra theatergoers, but unduly cruel to essentially "lock the doors" once a performance starts. This cruel "no late seating" policy usually leads me to purchase tickets once I get off the subway at my destination (which is usually at a very cheap price). If there's an extensive subway delay, I simply abort the trip to avoid undue stress.
