| Not having seen Lavin, I can't say whether she seemed to be copying her. She and Lavin are so different that even if she was generally following her choices, as she probably was to at least some degree, it didn't feel like seeing Lavin. She was fine in the role. She was utterly professional, she landed the laughs (maybe not every single one, but plenty). It was not an occasion when I felt glad to have seen the understudy, but it was also not a time when I felt that a show was notably damaged by an inadequate understudy. She was good but not great or special. |
