A CHANGE IN ME Origin?
Posted by: StaunchKarakter 03:30 pm EST 01/25/19

I've been reading online about the origin of "A Change in Me" from Beauty and the Beast, and how it was tipsily promised by Tim Rice to Toni Braxton in the final moments of negotiations for her going into the show on Broadway.

I read on Wikipedia that the tune is pulled from some instrumental theme in the animated film. Does anyone know if this is true, and if so, where? I can't think where it would be.

Also, does anyone have any further info on the development of the song? It's such a nice tune with a great sentiment of awakening. I'd love to hear what Menken, Rice, or others have said regarding its writing and inclusion and impact.
