Second visit to Company and there were major improvements from first preview. When I last posted my review was completely negative. The staging was messy. While the gender bend was welcome, the book needed more updating. With the changes and additions, and the tighter performances, it's better but not best production of Company I've ever seen. That would go to Boyd Gaines IMHO.
Friends are asking me if this production will play in NY and who knows for sure. Maybe BAM? The opinion from my friends is that Rosalie will not transfer and Patti has limited box office appeal? Based on War Paint, no way would anyone invest in her to sell tickets.
Is Bobbie a role Lady Gaga should consider to bring it to Broadway with $$$? |
