well.. there are "excuses." First, while the cost of one "simple" playbill may not seem like much, the cost of 5000 is money that can better be spent on something else. Second, there is the matter of the trees that have to be chopped down. Most playbills end up on the floor. Third, they can be distracting when people (as they do) look at them as the show is going on.

We live in a world that increasingly functions (and thinks) digitally. In that world, the psychic benefits of holding paper (which is her "excuse" for wanting one) is just a bit too quaint. If you really need it that bad, then print it out yourself before you come to the theatre.

I'm not sure what policy you are referring to.
