*Sorry to break the news to you, words don't pop off pages or screens. What you are describing is a fetish. A very reasonable one to understand but that's it. It's a lot easier to read more now than ever before in history. And if I quantified how many books I could have read while waiting in the NYPL reading room for a book to be delivered to me, not to mention how many I went hunting for elsewhere that were not on the shelf, I would have read a lot more. Putting the world's libraries on digital access does not make us less smart. Just take a step back and try to realize what you have said.*
